I posted a question about pine over a year ago (!!) and never received
any response. Although the problem is not a very serious one, I still
would like to see it solved; so if someone has any idea about it I
should be very happy to hear it.
Here is my previous enquiry:

I have a problem with pine / alpine under Win XP:
In my configuration there are several distinct XP-users, but
all of them use the same version of alpine.exe, including
the same pinerc.
I now needed to reconfigure the system, and move alpine to a
different hard disk. As a consequence of this reorganizing,
alpine.exe started as if freshly installed [with a `virgin
configuration'], using the default pinerc.
Replacing the virgin pinerc with my old pinerc version did not
work, for some reason. The only remedy I came up with was to
delete the registry entry ( "alpine -registry clear" ), replace
pinerc by my old version, and then rerun alpine .
That worked; but unfortunately only for the Win user logged in
(say 'Joe'). Logging in as 'Jim' and redoing this whole process
then worked for 'Jim' as well; but returning to 'Joe' I was back
to the virgin configuration for 'Joe' .
Evidently alpine.exe references some registry entries. So I am
obviously doing something wrong (possibly stupid, at least awkward).
Does anybody understand what's happening and thus can help me ?
Thanks in advance,
ccn.
-----------------------------
So, 2nd time around: any idea? Again, thanks.
ccn.
