misc. pine (pico ?) usage question ... cutting rest of document ...

I often find myself needing to cut (with ^k) a lot of lines in an email - maybe hundreds or even thousands if careless respondents have top posted on top of each other for days or weeks.

And usually, what I need to do is "cut the rest of the document" ... but I don't see a way to do this.

Is there any way to cut, from my current line, the rest of the document - removing all lines below my current line ?

Thanks!

CTRL+^WVK

= "Start Selection", "Find", "Last Line", "Cut"

Control ^ to set a mark at the place the cut should start
Control V to move to the foot of the document
marked text should now be highlighted
Control K will cut all the marked text

(should it be useful Control Y goes to top of document)

Dear George,

I have a patch that does that. It will cut until the end of the document
(or in an e-mail message until where the signature begins, if you use the
separator "-- " for signatures). Once the patch is applied, you should
press "Ctrl W Ctrl X".

The patch for Pine is available at

http://patches.freeiz.com/pine/info/DelText.html

If you consider upgrading to Alpine, get the patch from

others have answered your real question, but I'll plug vim. If you use an
external editor, and use vim, then you can just type dG to delete from the
current line to the end of the document.
